SJPO 2020 - General Round on 3 July 2020 (updated)

- For all interested NYGH sec 3 & 4 students - register by Wednesday 24 Apr 2020 to have access to online resources.
- Actual registration with organizer would be done in May 2020!
- Note: You are NOT eligible to participate if you
- have other important commitments/competitions clash with 3 July from 1230h!

FAQs:
- Will there be a second round for open category or only for main category?
- Special round is based on selection from General Round, for both main and open categories.
- Is there going to be training or notes provided for NYGH participants?
- Yes. All eligible NYGH participants would be given online access to reading materials and past year practice questions after your registration.

- You may also consult your physics teacher.
- Which age category to choose?
- If you are older than the Main category, choose Open category. Participants in both categories will take the same SJPO paper.
- Can I pull out after this internal registration?
- Yes, before the actual registration with the SJPO organizers end of May.
- Look out for email request in May for confirmation from teacher IC before actual registration.

- An annual competition organized by the Institute of Physics (Singapore) to encourage the study and appreciation of physics among secondary school students.

- Term 3 Week 5 Friday 3 Jul 2020: 1500-1700h, Report by 2.30 pm! (To be confirmed)
- Tentative Venue: TBC
- Bring: personal iPad or laptop - to use an online platform!
- 2B pencil, eraser & Scientific Calculator (non-programmable)
- Format: MCQs only
- Past year sample paper: SJPO 2016 General Round_Question.pdf and SJPO 2016 General Round_Answer Key.pdf
- Results would be announced in June.
- Special Round: 10 Jul 2020 (Friday) at 1430-1730h (TBC)

- Age categories
- Main: Sec 1 to 4 students who are born on or after 2 January 2004
- Open: Sec 1 to 4 students (no age limit)
- No Registration fees (updated)

- past year SJPO questions (MCQ with option answers) for self-practice

- LOA would be issued for all participants for actual day of competition.
